 Luke 11:33 “No one lights a lamp and puts it in a secret place, or under a basket, but on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light.” Luke 11:34 “The light of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is full of light; but when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.” Luke 11:35 “So watch out that the light that is in you is not darkness. Luke 11:36 “Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, with no part dark, the whole will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light”. We can pray that God will make us a lamp full of light with the light of Jesus to shine before others. We can pray for the brightness of Jesus light, just as Jesus was a light and still is to those who believe.
Luke 15:1 “Then all the tax collectors and sinners were coming near to hear him.” Luke 15:2 “And the Pharisees and scribes grumbled, saying, 'This man receives sinners, and eats with them'. Luke 15:3 “And he spoke this parable to them, saying,” Luke 15:4 “What man among you who has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the pasture and go after the lost one until he finds it? “Luke 15:5 “And when he finds it, he puts it on his shoulders, rejoicing. “Luke 15:6 “And when he comes home, he calls his friends and neighbours (British Spelling) together and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.’ Luke 15:7 “I tell you that in the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who have no need of repentance.” Here Jesus is telling a parable about a shepherd, encoded as his way of saying the presence of the Lord himself is present.  Jesus said in: John 16:7 “Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. For if I do not go away, the Comforter will not come to you. But if I go away, I will send him to you.” We have a comforter to comfort us in our trials.
