Luke 22:35 "And he said to them, 'When I sent you without purse, bag, and sandals, did you lack anything?' And they said, 'Nothing'" Jesus was not saying this to Peter because when Jesus sent Peter earlier in Mark 6:7-9 he sent him with sandals. Jesus did not send the other disciples out with sandals earlier. Jesus was hoping that Peter wouldn't buy a sword as the other disciples were encouraged to in Luke 22:36. The two swords in Luke 22:38 may be symbolic of something? Perhaps the Holy Spirit was going to be present at the arrest of Jesus in Peter? The Shepherd was there symbolizing God, Jesus was there symbolizing Jesus but Peter may be present representing the Holy Spirit? Peter may have been representing the Holy Spirit and allowed to even though he denied Jesus three times? This may have been a part of why Peter's denial was so symbolic because he was acting as the representative of the Holy Spirit at the arrest of Jesus. It may have been teach...
