John 20:16 "Jesus said to her, 'Mary'. She turned around and said to him, 'Rabboni!' (which is to say, Teacher)."

John 20:17 "Jesus said to her, 'Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father. But go to my brethren and tell them that I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God”.

Jesus after he had been crucified and raised from the dead chose to appear first to Mary Magdalene. What was he greeted with, “Teacher” and he was given a hug? Clearly Jesus had been through a lot he had been through a Roman crucifixion had been raised from the dead and clearly he needed a hug. He needed someone to care for him emotionally and who believed in him. Mary didn't say I doubt you are alive she said, “Teacher”. She had no doubt that Jesus could be raised from the dead, her brother Lazarus had been raised from the dead by Jesus. Jesus probably chose to appear first to the one who believed in him the most right at that point?
